We urgently need foster parents who can provide loving temporary homes for HCN’s rescued kittens and cats. Training is provided, and we reimburse for food, litter, and authorized medical expenses.

As a foster parent, you’ll prepare cats for a permanent home by socializing them: petting, handling, and playing with them so they learn to trust and love people. HCN foster cats are dewormed, deflea’d, vaccinated, tested, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption; you’ll work with the fostering program coordinator to ensure that your foster kitties get the veterinary care they need. When the kitten/cat is ready to be adopted, you’ll collaborate with other volunteers to help find the perfect forever home via online promotions, weekend adoption fairs, or temporary residence at our PetSmart Adoption Centers in San Mateo or San Carlos if space is available.

Becoming a foster parent means giving a kitten or cat a second chance at life. It’s incredibly rewarding, and you’ll be a vital, appreciated member of HCN’s team!
