To help find homes for our rescued cats and kittens, the Homeless Cat Network holds adoption fairs every weekend at various locations in San Mateo County, including Pet Club in San Mateo and the Petsmart stores in San Mateo and San Carlos. Adoption helpers would commit to helping on a regular or semi-regular basis at these fairs. Helpers arrive 15-30 minutes before the fair begins to set up equipment and receive cats. During the fair, they supervise the cats and interact with potential adopters, including reading applications and conducting interviews with the cats. After the fair, they take down and clean equipment and make sure all the cats are retrieved by their foster parents. Prospective helpers would attend an adoption fair to be trained. Adoption helpers should be comfortable working with the public and diplomatically screening prospective adopters through the application and the in-person interview. Physical requirements include lifting and assembling tables and cages, and performing light cleaning. Even if you could help for just 15-30 minutes to set up or take down, we'd love to have you!
